Home Visits
Before your child starts at St Edmund's, one of our team will come and visit you at home. This is a lovely opportunity for us to get to know you and your child, and for you to get to know us! We'll bring along some admission forms to complete together, and we'll also share information about everything that's on offer for parents and carers. Remember St Edmund's isn't just for children, it's for your whole family too.
Your Child's Key Worker
When your child joins us, they will be assigned a key worker who will be their main point of contact in the nursery room. Your key worker is there to answer any questions you may have, help your child settle in happily, and make sure they are learning and progressing well. They will also be responsible for keeping your child's Record of Achievement up to date. That said, every member of our team is always happy to help, so please don't hesitate to chat to any of us.
Settling In
We know that starting nursery is a big moment for both you and your child, and we want to make it as smooth and happy as possible. We'll take the time to make sure your child feels comfortable and confident before we say goodbye at the door! Your key worker will talk through all the settling in arrangements with you during the home visit.
Record of Achievement
Your child's Record of Achievement is a special book that captures their journey from the very first day at nursery. It lives in their nursery room and is filled with observations, photos and examples of their work. You are welcome to look at it any time you visit, and we'd love you to add to it too photos, drawings and little moments from home are always treasured. We'll also invite you to regular Better Together meetings to talk about how your child is getting on, but please know that you can always speak to a member of staff at any time our door is always open.
