Everyone had loads of fun during our Christmas celebrations! The children enjoyed parties, Christmas songs and a visit from Santa who brought a present for us all.

A warm welcome to the new children and families who have joined us this year in Blue and Green classes and good luck to those children who are all grown up and have moved up to Red and Yellow classes.

We would also like to welcome some new members of the staff team – Haleema and Kolsuma who are our new apprentices.

This half term at Nursery we will be talking about and experiencing the changes in the environment around us - particularly the weather. Let’s hope we get some more snow! As we plan around children’s interests, please let us know if there is anything that your child has enjoyed doing at home so that we can build on the experiences at Nursery. Don’t forget to take photos of the things you do together to include in your child’s file.

Talk, talk talk! Communication, speech and language in all its different forms is key to your child’s development. Talk to your child about everything including what they have been doing at Nursery and their friends and teachers. Your child’s key person will be able to help you if you’re not sure – just ask and we can give you some prompts.

Whenever possible encourage your child to have a go at putting on their own coat, hat and other outdoor clothing – it is a really important skill to learn as we work together to increase their independence. Please also check your child’s basket and make sure we have spare clothes (that still fit!), nappies and wipes – thank you.

Our wonderful Lending Library is open on Monday, Wednesday and Friday – please make sure you make good use of it and borrow books and resources often.

The children of working parents are now entitled to 30 hours of free early education, the term after their 3rd birthday. If you think you might be eligible next term, go to www.childcarechoices.gov.uk/ and apply for a code ASAP to confirm your child’s place after Easter.
